Y’know, I don’t ever really review Indie games? I’ve had a Switch for a while now and I don’t think I have ever taken the time to write about what I’m playing. It’s time to change that, and what better game to start with than The Cosmic Wheel: Sisterhood.
This four-day festival aimed to commemorate the Pendle witches who were tried and killed in Lancaster in 1612, as hysteria and panic toward ‘witches’ rose. These women, and men, were not allowed to be mourned for; their whole families were eradicated in some cases, so we gathered to learn about them, remember them and in doing so heal and learn new things about ourselves and our connection with other women.
I am sure you’ll have all heard of it – The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a heartwarming and charming story based on a group of British retirees ending up in an entirely unexpected hotel-come-retirement-home in India. It is my BIRTHDAY! and once again, it’s time to party and this year I went a bit crazy and made it exactly as I wanted it to be! Plus, this year I have the added fortune that my lovely girlfriend, Elena, has her birthday super close to mine so we had a joint party! Specifically, a witches and vampires costume party! <3
I only had tickets to one day of the Coven of Gaia festival this May… and guess which one it rained on! Despite the showers I had an absolutely incredible time at the workshops. One of these days, I will be able to attend a few rituals too!
Just a really short post from me today because I am feeling really happy and elated! I went to my first coven meeting today for Beltane and it made me feel a part of the pagan community for the first time!
As a British kid, I bet you likely read Lord of the Flies in school. Of course, when I was younger, I didn’t really understand it – why were the kids so chaotic? Why would they do the things they did? After seeing the play, it got me so gripped that after innumerable years since I’ve read the novel… I FINALLY GOT IT.
The Belgrade invited me to see Drive your Plow over the Bones of the Dead this week and I was immediately intrigued.
I wanted to share just some of the amazing books I’ve read so far this year. I’ve tried to choose exclusively fantasy and queer fiction and as such, I’ve now gained quite the list of books I’d love to recommend to anyone who wants to read more queer witch/fantasy books.
Never more poignant than in the current economic climate, as entrenched class structures continue to ensure that people who are poor, stay poor; Blood Brothers is absolutely one to watch this year.
