A little guide to making Icewind Dale taverns a little more interesting. In a particular part of the campaign there is a series of 5 inns with minimal description. After my players took a particular interest in these inns as a “bar crawl” I created a mini-series of taverns that had unique quirks. Here’s a guide to how you can make these Icewind Dale taverns an interesting destination in-game.
For the first time in what feels like so long I am BUZZING! I attended the opening night of Assembly Coventry – the new festival space now open in Coventry City centre as part of the City of Culture 2021. I was invited to a night of incredible entertainment, food and best of all… a festival atmosphere. How I’ve missed it! It’s been too long…
HOW can anyone function in this heat? I’ve had the most lovely week off for my birthday with the most glorious weather but now it’s getting a bit much! My friend, Lizzie, and I sought out the shade when we visited the Laura Ashley tea rooms today for my final birthday celebration!
My lovely friend is forever feeding me her vegan snacks to convert me to her vegan agenda… Lol JK, she knows how much of a foodie I am, so she decided to give me a box of goodies! My friend does regular ratings of vegan snacks on Instagram, to see what she feels are are the best in the market. It’s a really cute piggy themed account that rates everything out 5 snouts! So in honour of her, I’m going to rate all of these snacks out of 5 snouts.
Hello everyone, as I am officially Well Old today, I thought I’d write a little birthday blog post! When I was about 15, I decided that no one over 32 was cool. 32 was officially the age where it was absolutely impossible to be cool… If I could give my younger self a cold hard stare I totally would. Who does she think she is, with her purple flared trousers and her lack of decent hair products… she wouldn’t even know cool if it hit her in the face.
Someone excellent once said to me “What about you makes you think you deserve to take up less space?” and my god, she’s right. I deserve to take up space! I deserve to love myself and my body. Following from the absolutely incredible series of talks about acceptance of your own body, from the Anti Diet Riot Club Weekender, I wanted to write down my thoughts and experiences of fatphobia and how the experts suggest we beat the stigma and start feeling more body positive!
Creating a diverse and norm-breaking campaign is a challenge within itself on top of a ton of things a DM already has to remember. Dungeon masters need to introduce a character, flesh them out, make them believable and make sure that the players can get a good idea of who they are in a very short amount of time. For this reason, people tend to slide into particular stereotypes and norms. Here are some easy ways you can diversify your D&D games!
Lately, I’ve been feeling quite sad that my blog has remained dormant for so long! After a brief chat with my pal, Lizzie, she’s told me that once she stopped worrying about stats, or “having something important to say” it took a weight off her mind and now she just posts what she feels. Reports on all her days out, her outfits, her feelings. That’s what I’ve been missing from blogging! That… and the additional time it takes to write.
A friend of mine gave me the chance to discuss something that affects so many of us without our knowledge. BRFBs or Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours can affect many of us who suffer from anxiety. So what do they feel like, and what can we do to overcome them? Who better to help us than someone who has been dealing with BRFBs for since her early teens! So let’s find out more…
How have you been this lock-down? Since I am pretty sure all my readers are UK based and now in the drudgery of a third lock-down, I think we can assume we’re all feeling the same. Lethargic. I feel like the joy and energy has been sapped from life, and I am just waiting out until the end and hoping for the best. Daily, it’s a struggle. But these mini lectures and art workshops have given me little pockets of meaningfulness and learning, so I wanted to share them with you.
