Last weekend I experienced my first ever Bristol Hen Weekend! One of my good friends is getting married in July (for which I have bridesmaid duties!) and this weekend was her send-off. It was an awesome experience and one I’ll never forget. It was completely different to anything I’ve ever done…
We were all so different but it was all lovely and we got on so well. No one was moody, no one complained, no one even got too ill to function! We all bustled off to Bristol, cars heaving with everything we could possibly carry and we were on our way.
Friday- Heading out and “out-out”
The first day we checked in and headed straight out to a cocktail making class at Revolution. It was so much fun and we got ridiculously drunk in such a small time… I’d recommend it to anyone as a start-up to a night! We all got taught how to make cocktails and then had a competition where we raced to make a cocktail. So much fun!
Saturday – Getting knocked out
The rest of the night was a bit of a blur… So the next morning was also pretty blurry! After a much-needed breakfast, we all headed to It’s a Knockout! We went head-to-head with other stag and hen parties in some silly games.
I didn’t partake but I got some really good pictures of everyone so I am glad I sat out… it was hilarious to watch! The costumes were from the 70s (and super outdated!) and everyone got soaking wet. By the time it was over, the hangovers had disappeared.
After a brief visit from a policeman… we headed off into town for a meal at a gorgeous restaurant on the river, Severn Shed. Night two wasn’t so heavy so I really got to soak in the atmosphere. Bristol is the most brilliant place for nightlife – the waterside bars are all great and there were people singing in the streets along with a saxophonist busker. We all held hands and sang along which was a lovely start to the night.
Sunday – Spa and chill out
After two pretty late nights, Sunday was for chilling. We headed off to the spa for some treatments and time off – and it was much needed. The spa even gave us champagne, the food was lovely (and included in the package) and they gave the bride-to-be a gift voucher and flowers. Such a lovely gesture!
The whole weekend was just perfect, and when you’re on a hen do everyone treats you with so much kindness and happiness!
It was amazing and the bride loved it – bring on the wedding!
