Oh my goth: Autumn Outfits in my Capsule Wardrobe

I never really had a “style” – it’s only post-pandemic that I’ve really looked at what I wear and thought, I am going to make full outfits that really match how I feel and who I want to present on the outside. It’s inspired me to make a post about my latest outfits… something I don’t really do but, ya know… now I feel like my style might be something to be desired?!

I used to wear a lot of spacey items, some Ravenclaw bits and pieces… 50’s dresses… I feel like it’s taken me until I am the ripe age of 32 to finally feel truly comfortable in my own skin and to understand what my fashion is. Now I tend to buy from just a few brands who are truly plus size inclusive.

So here are a few of my latest outfits for different occasions! I actually feel like giving myself a short haircut completely refreshed my outlook on myself – I barely recognise long-haired me anymore from old pictures!

Military Babe

I’ve fallen a little bit in love with harnesses recently. I went through a year and a bit covering myself up with big thick jumpers and oversized tshirts since my boobs started to head South. Now, with my renewed feminist outlook of f*ck you, I’m no less epic now I’m past my twenties, I’ve adopted harnesses as a staple for adding sexiness to any outfit.

Green Queen

I have always wanted to dye my hair green but the maintenance! I decided to buy this green wig and adored it instantly. I think the way forward for me (since I am so fickle and anxious about my hair) is to buy wigs in many colours to co-ordinate with my outfit. It’s 2021, who cares.

Calling all Skeletons

Although Halloween is now officially over, I can’t help but want to wear my skeleton hands top! It’s so comfy and just the right length on the sleeves. As you can tell, my boots and some form of Snag tights are pretty much a staple for all my outfits… I love embracing my darker side.

Harnessed for the GODs

Oh look it’s that harness and those boots again. I definitely have favourite items – but I guess it’s good to have a capsule wardrobe! This time I decided to casual up an evening summer dress with a long sleeved tee and waist belt. I don’t mind wearing Halloween gear all year round – might bring this piece back in Jan/Feb when people forget Halloween is a thing.

Donut Delight

This was one from late summer when I was just trialling out co-ordinating pastels. I’ve bought a ton of pastel items since then to bring out again next year. This was for a lunch date and I was really happy with my make-up that day. I tried fake freckles for the first time and felt cute AF.

I am really glad I’ve finally found the beginnings of a “capsule” wardrobe that works for me! I still have my occasion-wear but I’m glad I truly found something that I’m comfortable with. Most of the time I am so buzzy about what to wear, I obsess over it… so this has taken a weight off my mind. Can’t wait to style up some new bits for the rest of the year and 2022!
