This weekend has been so sunny, it’s definitely starting to become spring! Thought I’d continue with this mid-week posting thing as it’s Valentines Day! Also, I don’t know if I will post this coming Saturday because I am going to be super busy.
So here’s a little Valentines Day post
Me and my fiance recently started to plan our wedding: the date is set, the wheels are in motion and things are very far from settling into place. I suppose we have a fairly long way to go (about 18 months) – which should be enough time for me to get my life straight and to be able to balance my social, family, blogging, work and wedding planner life! Right?
Nope. To be honest, I am finding it a struggle to get a good balance. Where the heck do people find the time to watch trashy TV, have 3 hour long baths or just take a walk?
Luckily, my fiance convinced me to do nothing for a day.
I took a day off work, a day off from writing, I turned off my phone and went for a walk to take some pretty, outdoorsy photos (for later blog posts). We headed off in the direction of our wedding venue, but you won’t be able to tell where it is by the pictures, mwahaha.
This day was much needed – after working myself into a ball of stress and nerves, it was just the thing I needed before getting myself back into a positive mindset. It was all down to him that I am back to normal again… by helping to look after me, pick me back up, suggest some quality time and take a day off from it all. We also stopped at a gorgeous nearby pub for some lunch. (So nice!)
So, about this photo-shoot…
I am SO awkward when it comes to photos; it’s the reason why up until this year the photos of me have been kept to a minimum! Although I am a really smiley person, it’s so hard to capture me with a smile as I have a resting bitch face and I can’t seem to make myself “fake” it… I always look maniacal or just plain weird. But luckily on this beautiful spring-time walk, I didn’t need to fake-smile once.
So, in the true spirit of Valentines Day, this post is dedicated to my other half.
Thank you James, for this wonderful day. You made me feel completely at ease, and it was great to wander around the place where we are going to be getting married next summer! You’re by far the best thing that’s ever come into my life. You are my best friend, I feel lucky to have you and while the external things are getting me stressed, you get me back to normal.
Well… as normal as you and I could possibly be.
