A Harry Potter Halloween: Afternoon Tea at Colwick Hall Hotel

Three words: HARRY POTTER HALLOWEEN. I love a Harry Potter party – any opportunity to go to an HP themed event, I’m there. This year for a Halloween treat, my friends organised a visit to Colwick Hall in Nottingham, for a Harry Potter themed afternoon tea. I was very disappointed with dismal Ravenclaw representation – where are you all at? The place was buzzing with Gryffindors!

The food, on the other hand, was spectacular! Everything from the cakes to the cocktails was themed and there was so much food we couldn’t finish it! We started off with a butterbeer which rivalled Warner Bros Studios for the taste – you had to mix it up to get the right effect of the creamy butteriness – mmmm.

Angus Medford: Your Friendly Neighbourhood Comic Artist

Angus Medford is a 25-year-old artist from my hometown (Coventry), specialising in inks, comic books and general nerd culture! Using his blue pencils and brush pens he has created artworks and commissions for over 4 years, with no sign of stopping anytime soon!

I stopped him for a chat this week as I have some of his nerdy artwork as well as some of his darker more macabre works, as it’s the month of Halloween!

Halloween Special: October’s Spooky Themed Japan Crate

I don’t tend to have a favourite time of year but as it starts to get colder and the jumpers come on, it’s time for Halloween! I absolutely love the Halloween aesthetic and I tend to wear a lot of black all year round… Part of me wishes I was more stylish and can rock a dedicated Halloween outfit (that isn’t a pumpkin) but until then I’ll just review these Japan Crate Halloween goodies!

I don’t tend to do the same type of thing twice on my blog (at least so far) and I’ve reviewed a Japan Crate before. But I just HAD to share how frigging cool this latest Japan Crate was. This month is was the Halloween special and all the items in the box were themed to suit- every single one.

Going Solo to MDWAP Live: The Podcast Everyone loves but No-one talks about.

“My Dad Wrote a Porno” was my gateway into podcasts. It’s a podcast that no-one has spoken to me about, other than the person who shared it with me or the people I shared it with, and I didn’t realise it was so worldly renowned. However, when I mentioned the other night on Facebook that I went to see My Dad Wrote a Porno Live (MDWAP Live), so many fans came out of the woodwork!

For those who aren’t familiar with this podcast – it’s the best! 3 friends getting together to discuss one of their dad’s (lovingly rubbish) smutty self-published novels, “Belinda Blinked.”
